The Network panel displays information about the currently selected network feature in the map and allows updates to it. It also allows a network feature to be set as a subnetwork controller.

The Network panel will only appear in the side-bar when a single Network feature is selected in the map.

Connections

The Connections tab shows the features that are connected to the current feature, grouped by feature class.

Hovering the mouse over one of the connected features in the Connections tab causes that feature to be highlighted on the map, e.g. a switch is highlighted in yellow in the screenshot below.

Clicking on the underlined link for a connected feature, e.g. Station Disconnect MV : MV-SW-60 in the example above, provides a powerful way to drill into the connections in the network, to understand the links between features in a highly interconnected network.

Clicking the checkbox next to a connected feature in the Connections tab brings up options to Delete, Disconnect (in Utility Network) and show the Properties of that feature.

The user must be in an editable version in order to see these options.

The network origin and destination terminals can also be viewed and set here.

Attachments

The Attachments tab on the Network Panel shows the Utility Network features that have a structural attachment association with the selected feature.

Containment

The Containment tab on the Network Panel displays Utility Network features that have a containment association with the selected feature (if it is an Assembly feature). It can also show the Assembly feature that contains the selected feature, such as an electrical substation containing devices and cables.

Add Nonspatial Network Object

A nonspatial network object can be added and related to the selected feature using the Add button on the Network Panel.

The user must be in an editable version in order to see this option.

The nonspatial feature template can then be chosen from a list of valid feature templates that can be associated with the current feature.

Show Graph View

To show a Graph View of features connected to the current feature, click the Graph view button on the Network Panel.

This displays the following Graph View.

Clicking on a feature in the graph will show a menu with the options for viewing / editing that feature.

The user must be in an editable version in order to see the Delete and Uncontain options.

  • The Expand option will expand the graph to include the connectivity for that feature as well.

Clicking on the + symbol on a feature in the graph is a shortcut for the Expand option.

  • The Uncontain option will remove the containment association for that feature.

Show Network Rules

The network rules that apply to the current feature can be viewed by clicking the Network Rules button on the Network Panel.

This displays the Network Rules panel to the right of the map.
